Audi was the star once again as the 2018 New York International Auto Show rolled into New York City, New York, last month. Over 40 nameplates, both foreign and domestic, filled the floor at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Attendees experienced new vehicle reveals, concept cars, and everything in between.

So what made Audi stand out in such a crowded field? Keep reading to find out three things we learned.

3 Takeaways From the 2018 New York International Auto Show

The 2018 Audi A8 is World Luxury Car of the Year

82 judges from 24 nations across the world can’t be wrong. The 2018 Audi A8 claimed “World Luxury Car 2018”  honors at the New York International Auto Show. A full-size luxury sedan in its eighth generation, the Audi A8 excelled in the following criteria:

  • Passenger comfort and safety
  • Emotional appeal
  • Driving performance
  • Price performance
  • Market relevance

And with a 333-horsepower 3.0L TFSI® base engine, quattro® all-wheel drive, and a host of opulent amenities, it’s not hard to see why the decision was a no-brainer.

The 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback will take the world by storm

Many event-goers came to see what new model Audi would unveil — and they weren’t disappointed. The 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback’s muscular, wave-design body gleamed under the showroom lights. Here are just a few of the exterior features passersby got a look at:

  • A signature Singleframe® grille
  • Model-specific honeycomb air intakes
  • A matte front spoiler
  • High-gloss black side sills

And the motorsport-inspired design isn’t a coincidence. The Audi RS 5 Sportback will offer a 444-horsepower 2.9L TFSI® V6 engine and standard quattro® all-wheel drive when it hits the ground running in the second half of 2018.

The 2019 Audi A6 is bigger and better than ever

The Audi A6 was already an award-winning car, but Audi revealed even bigger plans for the midsize luxury sedan at the show. Characterized by a new dawn of Audi design, the 2019 Audi A6 will bring the following benefits to the table:

  • An all-new V6 turbocharged engine
  • New standard 48-volt mild-hybrid technology for increased efficiency
  • Standard progressive steering

But it’s not all about the road manners. Thanks to an all-new MMI® infotainment system with haptic feedback, your wish is Audi’s command. That’s right: The next-generation Audi A6 will offer voice-language control when it makes its retail debut later this year.
